Tako Sashimi Appetizer
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 6 people as appetizer
Ingredients:
1 lb. tako (octopus)
2 tablespoons fresh grated ginger
2 tablespoons Japanese soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon prepared wasabi
Process:
Steam the octopus until firm (aprox. 10 minutes), plunge into cold water until cool, chop into small pieces (.25" x 2") and mix with the remaining ingredients. Serve with premium sake. (The Kami will smile upon you.)
Octopus can be purchased at Arirang Oriental Food Store and is available by the tentacle.
Wasabi is the green horseradish used in preparing sushi also available at the Arirang.
Tako is Japanese for octopus
Kami are the spirits of Shinto
